Okta SCIM Provisioning for SMBs: Lucid, 1Password, GitHub (2026)

title: Okta SCIM Provisioning for SMBs: Lucid, 1Password, GitHub (2026) slug: okta-scim-provisioning-for-smbs-lucid-1password-github excerpt: Automate user lifecycle management across Lucid, 1Password, and GitHub Enterprise Cloud using Okta SCIM. Cut provisioning work to minutes instead of hours.
When Okta SCIM is wired correctly, a new hire lands in an Okta group on day one and within seconds they have Lucid seats, 1Password vault access, and GitHub team memberships waiting. Someone leaves, their Okta account deactivates, and all three apps remove their access on the same schedule. No manual seat assignments. No forgotten revocations.
SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is the standard that makes this happen. Okta sends user and group events to each app over a simple HTTPS API, and the app keeps its roster in sync. The hard part is never the SCIM spec itself,it's finding the API token in each app's admin console, because every vendor puts it somewhere different and calls it something different.
Below are quick-start guides for integrating SCIM provisioning into three of the most common apps in an SMB stack. Pick the app you want to wire up first and follow the full how-to for exact steps and troubleshooting.
Lucid (Lucidchart and Lucidspark)
Lucid's SCIM API lives in the Enterprise admin console. SCIM provisioning lets you push user and team assignments from Okta into Lucid, so new hires spin up with the right permissions instantly.
Generate a SCIM API key in Lucid → paste it into Okta's Provisioning tab → map Okta groups to Lucid teams. When done, adding someone to an Okta group lands them in the corresponding Lucid workspace without manual signup.

1Password Business
How ScaleIT handles this: See how compliance works
1Password SCIM runs through a hosted bridge service (1Password SCIM Bridge) that Okta connects to directly. The bridge syncs users and groups to your Business plan account, managing vault access automatically.
Request a SCIM bridge from your 1Password integrations panel → generate a bearer token → paste both into Okta. Assign Okta users and you're done,1Password creates accounts and assigns vault access based on group membership.

GitHub Enterprise Cloud (with Enterprise Managed Users)
GitHub SCIM is only available on Enterprise Cloud with Enterprise Managed Users (EMU) enabled. If your usernames are plain GitHub handles instead of ending in _shortcode, you're on the Business plan and need to migrate to EMU first.
Create a SCIM personal access token in GitHub settings → paste it and your enterprise slug into Okta → push Okta groups to GitHub teams. New team members appear in repo and org permissions automatically based on group membership.

What You Need Before You Start
All three apps require the same Okta setup:
- Okta Lifecycle Management licensed. Provisioning requires the add-on to your Okta plan (not included in Identity-only SKUs).
- Each app already installed from the Okta Integration Network. You enable provisioning inside the existing app tile; no separate connector needed.
- Admin or owner access in the target app. SCIM setup requires you to generate and paste a bearer token, typically restricted to top-level roles.
With those in place, the full end-to-end setup for all three apps takes about one to two hours.
Why Wire Them Up Together
Each app individually saves time. Lucid saves manual seat assignments. 1Password saves vault-by-vault access management. GitHub saves team membership clicks. But when all three sync from Okta, you get something bigger: a single source of truth for who works here and what they can access.
Offboarding becomes a five-minute task: deactivate the Okta account, and all three apps remove them on the same schedule. No missed revocation. No cleanup tickets two weeks later.
Next Step
If you'd like help scoping a SCIM rollout across your full stack, picking which apps to wire up first, or debugging an existing Okta integration that isn't quite pushing the right attributes, that's work we do regularly at ScaleIt. We can evaluate your app list and come back with a clean sequence and fixed-price scope. No upfront commitment required.
